Here we go again. Kicking off this week with pop hero (albeit with a touch of soul) Jack Penate and a great quirky beatless remix of 'Tonight's Today'. Ezekiel Honig supplies a slice of his trademark warm acoustic electronica before I launch into a future Balearic classic from DJ Hell's recent album, co produced by Peter Kruder (more on him later) amongst others. Rhythm Of Elements continue a string of great releases on R2 this year with a great piece of jazz flavoured house, replete with Japanese scatting, now you don't hear that everyday.

Peter Kruder marks the 50th release of the excellent Compost Black house label with an an amazing piece of deep electronic but super soulful house music and Faze Action provide some of their increasingly trademark disco deepness. Dub Colossus has been one of my favourite projects of the year so far and Colombia's Sidestepper gives this Ethiopian reggae project a further global fusion twist - wonderful.

Lynx & Kemo have produced possibly the best conceptual drum and bass album of all time and I drop this great bassline ethno inspired percussive track from their album, although it's about as far removed from most peoples perception of drum as bass as you can get. There is a great new compilation on Freestyle of Cuban Funk compiled by Tom Wieland and the Orquesta Riverside track is just one of the many great tracks on the album. If you don't know Tom Wieland he is a deep deep digger so expect a great original selection of previously obscure gems.

I've only just stumbled across Dollboy and wanted to share this great new folktronica find from this ex-bigbeat producer. DJ Day & Miles Bonny are just about to release an EP of Raphael Saadiq covers and I'm loving their interpretation of Skyy, Can You Feel Me, although with such great source material you can't go too far wrong. Robert Glasper is about to drop his new album and this hip hop inspired jazzer has enlisted Bilal amongst others on the project. Finally I end up with deep jazz beats by Venetian Snares which I meant to play last week but somehow overlooked - the joys of one take, live radio
