I've been neglecting the jazz of late so it's back in truly deep style and some great tracks with some classic Don Cherry and Trinidadian poet Anthony Josephy and his 7 man voodoo funk band courtesy of the consistently brilliant Heavenly Sweetness label. Equally deep and quality obsessed are Art Yard records check their fantastic new Sun Ra inspired electronic act Berliner Ring and their excellent back catalogue of rare jazz re-issues. Looks like Terry Lynn is going to be the Santogold or M.I.A. of 2009 and good luck to her, I like her style and rags to (relative)riches story. The new Boxcutter album is about to drop on Planet Mu and it's sounding great, he's one step ahead of the dubstep game branching out into different rhythms,with a nice musicality and added depth - this is one boy from the dubstep scene who's work will actually still sound good after the summer! Some nice new urban bits and bobs in the show as well. The new Grand Pianoramax single is sounding good helped along with a little Spinna remix the new Soundspecies album is sounding IMMENSE - cutting edge nu-soul and hip hop about to drop and look out for Speech Debelle as well, really unique voice (you'll either love it or hate it) and great unique UK female MC talent..
